Preventive Healthcare Initiative was founded in 2006 in Port Harcourt -Rivers State, Nigeria with the aim of contributing towards reducing the unacceptably high prevalence of preventable maternal and child mortality and morbidity in hard to reach poor communities.
We have in the in past ten years worked in several local Government Areas in Rivers and Bayelsa states-in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
Preventive Healthcare Initiative envisions an equitable world where the rights to good health for women and children are actualised and preventable deaths are eliminated.
Our mission is to empower women with knowledge, skills and tools to improve their reproductive health and the health of their children through education, health promotion and resource appropriate interventions.
We believe all women should have the right to make their own decisions concerning their reproductive health and children a right to a healthy start in life.
We take personal responsibility in the utilization of our resources and are accountable to supporters, partners and mostly our beneficiaries.
We also hold ourselves accountable for measurable results, including financial performance.
We are committed to act always in the best interests of women and children and never to compromise our integrity.
Maintenance of ethical standards: We believe in the sanctity and dignity of the human life and execute health projects that improve the lives of beneficiaries regardless of race or religious affiliation.
We encourage community participation and are culturally sensitive to the traditions of rural communities in the implementation of our programs.
